Michael has been Executive Vice President Finance at A.P. Moller - Mærsk and subsequently CEO of The East Asiatic Company. He now does advisory work and functions in various non-executive directorships - including as Chairman of the Rambøll Group, a leading Nordic engineering consultancy and as Chairman of Investering & Tryghed, an independent Danish portfolio management company as well as directorships in the Lauritzen Foundation and Unimerco. Michael holds a Master's degree in economics from The University of Copenhagen.
Seppo is a founding partner and board member of Bio Fund Management Ltd. Apart from board work, funding and investor relations, he is in charge of finding and managing investments in the field of medical technologies especially in diagnostics. Since December 2001, Seppo has been the President of Bio Fund Management A/S, Copenhagen, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Bio Fund Management Ltd., Finland. He is also on the boards of several of Bio Fund's portfolio companies. Seppo holds a degree in Physical Chemistry from Jyväskylä University, Finland.
Regina is a partner in the life sciences sector and joined Atlas Venture in 2004. She began her career in venture capital in 2000 with Apax Partners in Munich, Germany, where she was responsible for life science investments in the German speaking region. Prior to Apax Partners, she was an industry specialist for pharmaceutical and biotech companies at McKinsey & Company focusing on spin-offs and mergers in the sector. Regina holds a PhD in Biochemistry and a Master of Science degree from the Technical University in Vienna, Austria. She did post-doctoral research at MRC in Cambridge, UK and has been published in several journals, including Nature Biotechnology and JBC. Regina is also a member of the boards of Fibrex and Percardia. |
Francesco is General Partner of Index Ventures and is responsible for the firm’s life sciences practice as well as its networks within the scientific community. His areas of expertise include biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals. He joined Index in 1998 and has served on the board of several companies, including Cellzome, 7TM, ParAllele Bioscience, BioXell and GeneBio. Prior to joining Index, Francesco was involved in post-doctoral research in genetics at the Whitehead Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. He is also the author of several publications in international scientific journals including Nature. Francesco has a BA in Genetics and Microbiology from the University of Pavia, Italy, and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is also a CFA charter holder.
Formerly, Jan-Eric was a professor in business administration at the Stockholm School of Economics and Business Administration (Stockholm's Handelshögskola) (1970), and has been Head of the Management Consultancy Division of Statskonsult AB (1971-75), Executive Vice President of AB Atomenergi (1975-78), President of Masonite AB (forestry and building materials) (1978-82), Director and Executive Chairman of Skrinet AB (public investment company; Stockholm Stock Exchange) (1989-92), Director and Chairman of Munksjö AB (public pulp and paper company; Stockholm Stock Exchange) (1980-85), Director of Indigo AB (public aviation leasing company; NASDAQ) (1996-99), Chairman of Hemocue AB (private management buy-out, medical diagnostic company) (1988-92). He has also been on the board of several smaller companies such as Shilling Banco Ltd. (a UK property company), Ermitage Ltd. (a fund management group based in Bermuda and Jersey), Opulentia SA (property group; Luxembourg), Stril AB (a medical sterilization company based in Sweden) and several business units of Perstorp AB (including Perstorp Flooring AB). Jan-Eric holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers University, Gothenburg, Sweden, and has a degree in Business Administration (fil.kand.) from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
Marianne Kock
Marianne Kock has more than 25 years of experience from a number of high-level positions in the Danish pharmaceutical industry.
As an executive MBA with a background in discovery, development and launch of new pharmaceutical products world-wide, Marianne can contribute with many activities within the pharmaceutical industry.
Marianne Kock started her pharmaceutical career at Leo Pharmaceuticals in 1981 where she was appointed Head of Sterile Ointment Production and Packaging department.
In 1985 Marianne decided to pursue her career elsewhere and joined Novo Industries A/S, later known as Novo Nordisk, where she held several positions such as: Head of Packaging Department, Head of Sterile Production, Regulatory Officer, Regulatory Manager, Project Manager, Project Vice President and finally Vice President of Regulatory Business Support, Regulatory Affairs.
After a long career at Novo Nordisk, Marianne accepted a position of Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Ferring Pharmaceuticals A/S in December 2002 where she was responsible for obtaining world-wide marketing authorizations of new and older products as well as line extensions.
In addition to Marianne’s position as Senior Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs, which now includes overall responsibility for Global Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance world-wide and the support functions of global archiving and library, Marianne accepted an additional role in January 2006 as Vice General Manager of Ferring Internationational PharmaScience Centre taking responsibility for numerous tasks during the General Manager’s absence
With her many years of experience, Marianne has acquired extensive know-how within the fields of Discovery, Development, Product, Quality Assurance and Marketing, and has a good cultural understanding during collaboration with different partners and contacts worldwide.
